Dua Lipa is an English musician and singer, was born in London, on the 22nd of August 1995. After a stint as a model and actress, she signed with Warner Bros Records. She launched her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album peaked at the number three spot at the top of the U.K. album chart, and featured eight singles including the U.K. top ten hit song New Rules and Be the One. I.D.G.A.F. Lipa's album, which has now been certified platinum in a variety of countries across the world was awarded the two Brit Awards (in the year of 2018) for British Female Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough artist. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha, and Dukagjin Lipa. Through her maternal grandmother, she has Bosnian ancestry. It is possible to trace her family's roots back to Peja, a city in Kosovo. Lipa's grandfathers were both historians. There are two sisters, Rina and Gjin. The musical influence of Lipa's came from her father who was the guitarist and singer of Kosovan the rock group Oda. Her musical influences were derived from her father's music that included his music compositions and songs such David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa started to sing when she was just five years old. When she was nine, she began to learn how to sing. Lipa performed If I Ain't Gone You by Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa's record contract signed with Warner Bros. Records was signed in 2014. New Love was her debut single. New Love was released on August 15th, 2015.
